No Jury Duty for Janet Reno

These days, it isn't all that unusual for a lawyer, or even a judge, to serve on a jury. But there are still a few justice system figures who apparently can still expect to be eliminated from the prospective panel pretty quickly.
Among them: former U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno, who also formerly served as state's attorney in Miami-Dade County. Although she survived the initial round of questioning after appearing for jury duty today in the Miami area, she was sent home by midafternoon, reports the Miami Herald.
Defense lawyer Rod Vereen declined to seat Reno in an aggravated battery and robbery case. "She hired the prosecutor.''
