OJ Simpson Co-Defendant to Plead

A co-defendant has agreed to plead guilty and testify in the Las Vegas casino hotel room armed robbery case being brought against O.J. Simpson and several other defendants over an alleged forcible removal of sports memorabilia.

Edward Miley, a lawyer for Charles Cashmore, a 40-year-old laborer, bartender and disc jockey, says his client didn't know Simpson before the incident and was enlisted to carry boxes without understanding what was going to happen, reports the Associated Press.

Miley says no sentence has been agreed upon for Cashmore, who will reportedly plead guilty to being an accessory to robbery. However, it appears that it would not exceed, at most, five years in prison, according to AP.

As discussed in previous ABAJournal.com posts, Simpson says the sports memorabilia at issue belonged to him and denies that he was armed. He is currently free on $125,000 bail.
