O.J. Simpson Jurors Could Get Case by Week’s End

The defense is expected to present its case on Wednesday in O.J. Simpson’s armed robbery trial, and jurors could begin deliberations by the end of the week.
Prosecutors are trying to establish that Simpson knew his associates drew their guns in the September encounter with two sports memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas hotel room, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Simpson contends he didn’t see any guns during the incident and he didn’t ask his associates to bring them. During cross-examination on Monday, Simpson lawyer Gabriel Grasso asked prosecution witness Michael McClinton why he didn’t mention the weapons when he told police about his role in the alleged robbery.
"It may have slipped my mind," McClinton said, “but Mr. Simpson knew I had a gun.” He agreed to plead guilty to robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery in a plea agreement.
The defense lawyers are expected to present their case tomorrow, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. Closing arguments are likely to begin Thursday.
