Owen Wilson Eats Lawyers’ Cookies and Runs

Actor Owen Wilson (Wedding Crashers, You, Me and Dupree, and the big-screen remake of Starsky & Hutch) had a hankering for a snack, and the American Bar Association was only too happy to help.

The ABA’s Board of Governors met Oct. 19 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin, Texas, when Wilson was in town to appear in a Willie Nelson music video.

As he ambled back to his room from the pool with an unidentified woman, Wilson spied a plate of cookies in the ABA staff office. He poked his head in and asked if he could have one, according to board administrator Toni Harris. She offered him a chocolate-chip cookie, provided that Wilson—clutching wet towels with his hair askew—would drop by later to have his picture taken. He graciously agreed.

But Wilson never showed. "Next time, I’ll take a picture of him when he’s disheveled," Harris says.

Also sighted by ABA staff at the hotel was actor Woody Harrelson (TV's Cheers, White Men Can't Jump, The People vs. Larry Flynt) who joined the star-studded video cast.
