Pa. Chief Judge to Join Buchanan Ingersoll

The chief justice of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court will join Pittsburgh law firm Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney after he retires from the court in January.
Chief Justice Ralph Cappy will join the firm’s litigation section and play a significant role in the firm's mentoring program, particularly in the area of appellate law, according to a press release. Cappy said he is interested in working with clients to help them solve legal and business problems.
The Pennsylvania Bar Association recently awarded Cappy its Bar Medal, the group’s highest award, for his commitment to a fair and effective justice system, according to a bar press release.
“Pennsylvanians have greater access to information about the courts and court proceedings because of Chief Justice Cappy’s leadership in modernizing our courts, which includes the tremendous increase in postings of information online to be easily accessible to the legal profession and the public,” said PBA President Andrew Susko.
