Pillow Fight Organizer in Vt. is Charged With Disorderly Conduct

Some 50 individuals briefly pummeled each other with pillows in a staged—and videotaped—event in Burlington, Vt., on Friday.
But only 21-year-old Darin Cassler has been criminally charged over the incident, apparently because he allegedly blew a whistle that signaled those involved in the fluffy and apparently good-natured free-for-all to start and stop wielding their cushions, reports the Burlington Free Press.
Chittenden County State’s Attorney T.J. Donovan indicates that he may dismiss the case, once he has a chance to investigate. "If it is as it sounds, and it was some sophomoric hijinks, and some kids were having a pillow fight, it sounds like it’s much to do about nothing,” he tells the Free Press.
The approximately two-minute bout of pillow pugilism was organized on the Internet as part of a so-called flash mob event intended to liven up the day for both participants and spectators, Cassler told the newspaper.
