Pistol-Packing Security Guard Spurs Deposition Walkout

A plaintiff in a suit against NFL star Reggie Bush walked out of a deposition yesterday because Bush’s lawyer was accompanied by an armed security guard.

Bush's attorney, David Cornwell, told the Los Angeles Times and the San Diego Union-Tribune he wanted protection because the plaintiff is a convicted felon with gang ties. The suit claims the plaintiffs gave Bush cash and gifts while he was still in college in a failed effort to start a sports marketing agency with Bush as the primary client.

The lawyer for plaintiff Lloyd Lake, Brian Watkins, said the plain-clothed guard flashed his holstered handgun and failed to identify himself at the outset. “He was sitting five feet behind and to the side of Lloyd, staring menacingly at Lloyd, with his arms folded and with his gun,” Watkins told the Union Tribune.
