Campus police are searching for a law student from Florida International University who wasn’t reported missing until he had been gone for nine days.

The third-year student, Tom Daniels, was last seen storming out of a CiCi’s Pizza restaurant nearly two weeks ago, according to the Miami Herald and NBCMiami.com. As he left, he told a friend, “They’re coming to get me,” according to a university incident report.

Daniels’ mother, Denise Daniels, said she fears for her son’s safety. Since he disappeared, he has not used his credit cards and has not posted anything on Facebook.

Daniels told the Miami Herald that her son had told her he was seeing a psychiatrist. “I hope it's a mental thing and not that bad people were after him,'' she said.
