Poll Majority: Gonzales Should Resign

A poll by the Los Angeles Times and Bloomberg shows that most Americans believe Attorney General Alberto Gonzales should resign.
Fifty-three percent of those surveyed said Gonzales should step down because he denied a role in the firing of eight U.S. attorneys, the newspaper reports. Gonzales’ former chief of staff, Kyle Sampson, has contradicted Gonzales’ account.
Also, 74 percent of the respondents said aides to Gonzales should agree to testify under oath in Congress about the incident.
Gonzales has been subpoenaed by a House panel seeking documents concerning the firing. See more about the document disputes at this blog post.
