‘It’s Chic to Buy Used Clothes,’ Prominent Lawyer Says

The lure of expensive designer clothes hasn't lessened. But some well-to-do women have found a way to cut their cost.

Instead of buying at retail, they purchase their prized fashion finds pre-owned at consignment shops. Or they save a few dollars by reselling their own designer clothing to others, reports the New York Times.

“Everyone is feeling the pinch these days or knows people who are feeling the pinch,” Linda Kenney Baden, a well-known trial attorney, tells the newspaper. “It’s good to buy a used car again, and it’s chic to buy used clothes.”
