Quarles & Brady has been ranked the most family-friendly law firm in a report spearheaded by Yale Law Women.

Next on the top 10 list are Proskauer Rose; Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld; Jenner & Block; Mayer Brown; Covington & Burling; Arnold & Porter; DLA Piper; Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris Glovsky and Popeo; and Faegre & Benson.

The rankings are based on factors such as average hours worked by associates, weeks of maternity and paternity leave, onsite child care and alternative schedules. Researchers relied on data provided by large law firms to NALP, a national association for legal career professionals.

Quarles & Brady partner Nancy Peterson told the National Law Journal that about 17 of its lawyers took advantage of flex-time arrangements last year that permitted them to work about 70 percent of their usual hours.

Peterson said the firm’s flex-time program allows lawyers to continue to participate in business and professional development.
