Why is Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom like Leave It to Beaver? Or, for those too young to recall the popular family television show of the 1950s and 1960s, move ahead at warp speed another decade or so, and ponder this question: Why is Cohen, Milstein, Hausfeld & Toll like Star Trek?

For inquiring minds that want to know, the answers to these and other questions comparing television sitcoms to law firms well known in the nation's capital are provided in a Capital Comment Blog recap of a July article in Washingtonian magazine.

(Hint: the Skadden comparison involves two feuding brothers who grow up to work in opposing political arenas, one defending "a Democratic president who bears some striking similarities to Eddie Haskell." And the Star Wars scenario concerns a law partnership whose ambition, apparently, is "to go where no law firm has ever gone before.")
