In a case that is sure to be controversial, three boys in from a working-class Acworth, Ga., neighborhood have been charged in the alleged kidnapping and rape of an 11-year-old girl who reportedly is one of their regular playmates.

"The victim said they were playing outdoors and the girl was forced into a wooded area where she was sexually assaulted, where one of the boys raped her," Capt. Wayne Dennard of the Acworth police tells the Associated Press.

However, Brandon LeBlanc, the father of the 8-year-old boy, said his son didn't have sex with the girl. And, as far as another boy who is accused of doing so is concerned, "the sexual activity was consensual," the news agency writes, attributing this information to LeBlanc.

"There was no violence involved," LeBlanc said. "This is a clear case of a girl who didn't want to get in trouble with her parents."

Prosecutors have not yet decided whether to try the three as adults.
