Would be associates applied from as far away as Australia for an unusual new position at a small San Diego law firm--sales attorney.

However, Scholefield Associates hired a seasoned lawyer right in California for the job, Johnny Manriquez. He will spend most of his time bringing in business for the construction law and litigation boutique, reports a PR Newswire press release.

Lead attorney Pam Scholefield formerly worked as a sales engineer for General Electric, and says it is important to remember that law is a business, first and foremost. "We must never forget this if we want to be successful," she says. "There are no ivory towers here."
