A broken ankle isn’t stopping U.S. Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor from meeting with senators today who will vote on her confirmation.

Sotomayor tripped and injured her ankle at LaGuardia Airport, but she boarded the plane to Washington, D.C., to make her scheduled meetings with six senators, the Associated Press reports. After arriving in D.C., she made a stop at George Washington University Medical Center for X-rays that found a small fracture, according to the Washington Post blog, 44 the Obama Presidency.

Sotomayor is now using crutches and sporting a white cast on her foot covered by a black bootie, according to AP.
