Nikolas Colton Evans always wanted three sons. So, when he died after being punched and falling in a March 27 street assault in Austin, Texas, his mother, Marissa Evans, decided to try to harvest the 21-year-old's sperm and arrange a posthumous pregnancy with the help of a surrogate mother.

Now, at her petition, Travis County Probate Judge Guy Herman has ordered the medical examiner's office to maintain Nikolas Evans' body following his death Sunday and grant access so that his sperm can be obtained, reports the Austin American-Statesman.

Time now may be of the essence, since sperm deteriorates after death, as Marissa Evans and her attorneys look for a urologist or other medical expert to collect her son's sperm.
