Squire Sanders Mulls Possible Merger With Denton Wilde Sapte

Merger talks reportedly may be under way between Squire Sanders & Dempsey and Denton Wilde Sapte.
Still in the early stages, the conversations could achieve a transatlantic engagement as soon as this fall if they go well, reports Legal Week.
The article relies on unidentified sources; Howard Morris, who is chief executive of the more than 600-attorney Dentons, said only that the firm is open to a potential merger with a United States-based law firm, speaking generally, and Squire Sanders did not comment, the legal publication writes.
The 850-attorney Squire Sanders reportedly may have been discussing a possible merger last year with Chicago-based Seyfarth Shaw.
There has also been speculation that Squire Sanders layoffs of attorneys and staff roughly six months ago may have been part of an effort to make the firm more attractive as a merger partner.
