A homeless man who, along with another man, allegedly stole a $1 bill and a bag of empty cans from a 10-year-old Massachusetts girl has been sentenced to 9 months in jail.

"Robert Rowell Jr. pleaded guilty on Monday to larceny in Attleboro District Court, and was credited with three months already served while awaiting trial," reports the Associated Press.

The girl was reportedly en route to a supermarket to cash in the cans for a refund when the alleged theft took place in July. The case against Rowell's co-defendant is still pending.

No mention of Harvard law school or layoffs and no comments. I suppose nobody cares enough about children or the homeless. This story is just sad.

Can someone post the name of the 10 year old girl’s parents so my family can send her a gift.  I know some 15 year olds who can take a lesson from her industrial character. Carting cans and being robbed of $1 would level me and I thought I was a tough New Yorker.
