A Sundance Film Festival documentary that chronicles the fight against coal-fired power plants in Texas is boosting the image of Houston law firm Susman & Godfrey.

The film, Fighting Goliath: The Texas Coal Wars, touts Susman & Godfrey “in herolike fashion,” the Houston Chronicle reports. The documentary shows the battle for clean air by an unlikely alliance that included “mayors, ranchers, lawyers, cities, citizens, green groups, and CEOs,” KWTX.com reports.

Name partner Steve Susman said the firm donated an estimated $2 million in fees for its work on the case on behalf of 37 Texas cities. The firm retained 11 expert witnesses. deposed experts and argued motions allowing discovery about likely pollution emissions from the proposed plants. Susman said if a fictional movie is ever made of the case, it would be fun if he is played by Javier Bardem, the actor whose character was a serial killer in No Country for Old Men.

Susman is profiled in this month's ABA Journal.
