Only two years after planting its flag in New York, a Texas-based law firm is tripling its Manhattan office space.
McKool Smith has entered into a 15-year sublease of 30,000 square feet from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld at Bank of America Tower on West 42nd Street, reports Crain's New York Business.
The firm now has 20 attorneys in New York and expects to grow the office to as many as 100 within the next three years, says partner Robert Cote, who heads the New York office.
“Our growth amid the global recession is testament to our business model as a boutique trial firm specializing in intellectual property and commercial litigation,” he tells the legal publication. “We want to replicate here what the firm has in other parts of the country.”
