Photos of Obama, Biden and Justices Show a Number of Happy Faces

Pictures of yesterday's visit by President-elect Barack Obama and Vice-president elect Joseph Biden to the U.S. Supreme Court seemingly indicate a positive start for relations between the executive and judicial branches.

Lots of smiling faces can be see on the photographs posted today by the Blog of Legal Times, including what the BLT describes as a "beaming" Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. (Perhaps Obama's opposition, as a U.S. senator, to Roberts' confirmation is now a nonissue.)

And he's not the only one: Obama also looks cheery in at least one photograph, although he adopts a more serious expression as he apparently talks with Justice Antonin Scalia during a tour of the Great Hall outside the courtroom.

As discussed in an earlier ABAJournal.com post, little coverage of the visit was expected because the media wasn't invited.
