Thelen and Nixon Peabody Discuss a Merger

Thelen could be changing its name once again.

After the loss of a third name partner in just four months, Thelen Reid Brown Raysman & Steiner announced it would shorten its name to Thelen. Now comes word that the law firm in search of a merger partner has found one.

Thelen is in merger talks with Nixon Peabody and a possible agreement is pending, the National Law Journal (sub. req.) reports. The publication relies on “sources close to the situation” who said the firms have held extensive talks.

Spokespeople for both firms refused to confirm the report.
