This Just In: Paris Hilton Hires New Lawyer

Hotel heiress Paris Hilton, sentenced last week to 45 days in jail for probation violation, has apparently hired a new lawyer, but reports that she has fired her original counsel seem to be mistaken.

Howard Weitzman is out and Richard Hutton is in, according to various Web sites, including hollyscoop.com.

However, the Web site upon which these breathless reports seem to be relying for this alleged news puts it a bit differently. Having already hired Weitzman, who represented her during last week's trial, Hilton has now consulted as well with Hutton, reports tmz.com. The blog also posts a pic of a sobbing Hilton who, it says, was then leaving Hutton's office after a legal consultation.

Indeed, a later report by E! News expressly says both lawyers apparently are representing Hilton: "Though Hutton confirmed Wednesday that he has indeed joined the Hilton legal roster, Weitzman told E! News that he continues to represent the hotel namesake as well."

Hilton was initially put on probation for an alcohol-related reckless driving conviction, Reuters reports, and was found to have violated her probation by knowingly driving on a suspended license.
