Top Alaska Court Allows Sarah Palin Probe to Proceed; Report Expected Tomorrow

By Martha Neil

The Alaska Supreme Court refused today to call a halt to the "Troopergate" ethics investigation of Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republican nominee for vice president.

That sets the stage for the state legislature to release tomorrow, as planned, its investigative report about whether Palin abused her power as governor by firing the public safety commissioner, says the Associated Press. The former state police chief, Walt Monegan, contends that he was fired after resisting pressure from Palin and her supporters to fire her former brother-in-law, who continues to work as a state trooper.

As discussed in an earlier ABAJournal.com post, Republican lawmakers had contended in a lawsuit that the legislative process was being unconstitutionally misused to further partisan political interests.

The supreme court said it would issue a written opinion later explaining its reasons for the ruling today on the Sarah Palin investigation, Bloomberg reports.

Would ANYBODY even care if she wasn’t in politics today?

Maybe there was a troopergate, but I never heard of her and only knew that ALASKA is a state before all of this with McCane.

Now there every week, there is SATURDAY NITE live and she is on there too.  But even the other guy is there too.

It seems the entire country is now in the media.  I think no one will care about this once we elect a new president and vice president.

I do NOT know who I will vote for, but will decide after I read and talk about this with Alan.
