A Dallas-based law firm is cutting billable-hour requirements to give new associates more time for training.
Strasburger & Price says associates need only work 1,600 hours the first year at the firm, down from a prior requirement of 1,920 hours, the National Law Journal reports. But the firm expects the newbies to spend 550 hours learning the ropes and providing pro bono services.
New associates at Strasburger & Price earn at least $140,000 a year.
