UC Irvine Profs to Include LA Times Reporter, Incoming AALS President

The fledgling University of California at Irvine has released a list of its faculty, and it includes a former reporter for the Los Angeles Times and the incoming president of the Association of American Law Schools.

Legal affairs reporter Henry Weinstein, who recently took a buyout from the Los Angeles Times, will teach law students how to investigate facts, the Orange County Register reports. He is the second legal affairs reporter to move recently to a law school; Linda Greenhouse of the New York Times also accepted a buyout and will move to Yale Law School where she will participate in a new law and media program.

Another faculty member will be Rachel Moran, a UC Berkeley law professor who is the incoming president of the Association of American Law Schools. At UC Berkeley, she was director of the Institute for the Study of Social Change.

Other professors include labor law professor Catherine Fisk of Duke, false memory expert Elizabeth Loftus, and dispute resolution professor Carrie Menkel-Meadow of Georgetown.

The dean of the new law school is Erwin Chemerinsky, who hopes it will soon be among the top 20.

It’s a liberal orgy at nearly all law schools.
