UK Lawyers Set to Stock Supermarket Shelves for Client, Delaying Case

Lawyers with the British law firm Pinsent Masons will be stocking supermarket shelves at Asda, delaying a trademark dispute involving the U.K. supermarket chain.
Asda's counsel, Hugh Cuddigan, asked the High Court to push back a January trial date because Pinsents lawyers were going to be busy stocking shelves over the Christmas holiday, Legal Week reports.
Asda recently cut its roster of outside firms from 16 to three, and Pinsents was one of the firms surviving the beauty contest. All three firms signed an agreement requiring associates working on the account to work in an Asda store for three days over the Christmas holiday at no charge.
The trademark suit filed by the optical company Specsavers accuses Asda of infringing on its trademark with its ad slogan, "Be a real spec saver at Asda.”
