Up to 92 Clifford Chance Partners to be Axed ... But Which Ones?

After earlier news that Clifford Chance plans to restructure its partnership and that partners have approved the plan comes word of exactly how many partners will be affected.

Partners of the London-based megafirm last week approved the plan to cull their ranks based on a promise that no more than 15 percent of the firm's partner roster will be eliminated. That adds up to as many as 92 partners who may get the ax, reports Legal Week.

"We’ve voted now, but no one knows where the ax will fall. It’s a bit like turkeys waiting for Christmas," one unnamed partner tells the legal publication. "People are feeling nervous."
