Las Vegas law firm Gordon & Silver will establish a white-collar criminal defense practice after its merger with the firm of well-known lawyer Dominic Gentile.

Gentile has been in the news lately for representing embattled Judge Elizabeth Halverson, the Las Vegas Business Press reports. To lawyers, he is perhaps best known for the U.S. Supreme Court case that bears his name, Gentile v. State Bar of Nevada, which dealt with permissible limits on lawyer speech about pending cases.

Gordon & Silver handles bankruptcies, corporate law, gaming law and estate planning. Combined with Gentile’s criminal defense firm, Gentile DePalma, it will have 30 lawyers.

"This is the first law firm in Nevada to have white-collar criminal defense,” Gentile told the publication. “Every other city of this size has such a component."
