Wealthy Socialite Dad Disappears With 7-Year-Old Daughter

Reportedly concerned about her ex-husband's unknown past, socialite Sandra Boss persuaded a judge to require his visits with their 7-year-old daughter to be supervised by a social worker. But when Reigh Boss arrived in Boston from her home in London to visit her father, Clark Rockefeller, 48, on Sunday, he quickly gave the social worker the slip, sparking an international manhunt.

"Mr. Rockefeller was initially thought to have fled on board a 72-foot catamaran that he told friends he had recently bought with $300,000 of gold bars. However, a spotter plane could find no trace of the yacht yesterday and police now believe that Mr Rockefeller told friends of his plan to sail around the world with Reigh in an attempt to throw them off the trail," writes the London Times.

At one point, authorities said they had a credible sighting of the father and daughter, who are reportedly close, in Delaware, writes WBZ-TV. The FBI says he may have cut his daughter's shoulder-length blond hair and be dressing her to resemble a boy, according to the Boston Herald.

Although Rockefeller implied he was a member of the famous family by that name, he apparently is not, and his background is a mystery, according to authorities. They say he has multiple aliases, no valid social security number and no job or school history to explain his apparent wealth and prominent position in society, reports ABC News.

"Nobody knows who this guy is," an unnamed Boston police official tells ABC. "He is a ghost."

He and Sandra Boss, now 41, who works in London for the McKinsey & Co. management consulting firm, were married in 1995. Before divorcing last year they bought a 15-room, $775,000 “cottage” in Cornish, New Hampshire, a $2.3 million townhouse in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Boston, and another expensive home on Nantucket Island, off the coast of Massachusetts, the Times writes.

Property records show that Boss was the owner of the homes, reports the Boston Globe.

If the entire DC cop shop and the FBI couldn’t find Chandra Levy, and we still can’t find Bin Laden,
Clark, who has been on the lam for 5 days now, may in fact illude the FBI , cops and Interpole. It kind of instills a vast confidence in one about the effectiveness of our law enforcement agencies.
Claark has been a very calculating ghost for
severel decades, perhaps preparing for this
great work like the vanishing of Kaisa Shosha
from the Usual suspects.  This invisible man
routine is better than /Radovan Karadzic’s hiding in plain sight for 13 years in his nome town!
