Happy New Year! Now that we’re all recovered from late-night parties and have returned home from holiday travels, it’s back to business.
But will it be business as usual for you in 2008? What have you resolved to do in the coming year to make yourself a better lawyer?

I resolve to resolve disputes in a more civilized manner than court. I am expanding my practice to include mediation and collaboration and hope that by the end of 2008 these forms of practice will exceed the litigation ones.

I resolve to step out of line. Lockstep no more. Attorneys have been so beleagured by anti-lawyer legislation and press for doing anything novel and groundbreaking that I believe we all need to stick to our guns, search for justice and champion it.
