A spokeswoman for Dallas-based Winstead has confirmed that the law firm is canceling its summer associate program this year, but she offers few details.

Spokeswoman Shannon Tipton told the Tex Parte Blog that the law students now out of a job will be getting a stipend, but she couldn’t say how much it is or how many students are affected.

Above the Law had reported the students are each getting $5,000.

Luce Forward has also canceled its 2009 summer associate program and has rescinded offers to all third-year students who worked at the firm last year.
