The chair of Nixon Peabody’s private equity practice, Dominick DeChiara, is leaping to Winston & Strawn in New York along with seven other Nixon Peabody lawyers.

DeChiara will co-chair the private equity practice at Winston & Strawn, according to a press release. Also joining Winston are four associates and partners Bradley Vaiana, Bryan Goldstein, and Jennifer Kurtis.

Winston & Strawn’s acquisition “has significantly expanded its private equity practice and middle-market capabilities,” according to the press release.

The lawyers make up Nixon Peabody’s “core deal team," according to the blog PEHub. The blog posted a statement from Nixon Peabody saying lateral movement is common, and it respects the lawyers' decision to leave. "We have a number of strong deal teams as part of our leading private equity practice," the statement says.
