Would-Be Legal Secretary is Now Partner

Amy Walpole's typing skills were not the greatest. But that's no longer an issue for the would-be legal secretary.
The United Kingdom law firm at which she initially sought a staff position after returning home to her native Norwich in 2002 has helped her to earn a law license and has now made the family law practitioner a partner, reports the Eastern Daily Press, a local newspaper.
“Although Amy is our first female partner, what is more important is the drive and new ideas she will bring to the partnership which will not only benefit the firm but also our clients," says Richard Etheridge, the firm's managing partner. "Amy and fellow partner Colin Grooms in our family law department will provide services requiring the utmost sensitivity and understanding of issues.”

This would never happen with a man coming in as a clerk. Here’s one example where the men in charge elevate this woman to partner after a few years service. Proof positive that men do their best for women and are not prejudiced.
