After 40 Years, Retired Senator Returns to Hogan & Hartson
Former U.S. Senator John Warner (R-Va.) will rejoin global law firm Hogan & Hartson’s Washington D.C. office April 1. The five-term senator left Hogan in 1969, when he was appointed undersecretary of the Navy. He was elected to the Senate in 1978 and recently retired after completing his last full term.
Sen. Warner, a World War II and Korean War veteran, served 30 years on the Senate Armed Services Committee, including three periods as chairman. He was viewed as one of the most influential senators on military and foreign policy matters, according to a firm press release.
“As I return to the practice of law, I am privileged to rejoin Hogan & Hartson, a firm that has long recognized the value and importance of public service by its members,” Sen. Warner said in the release.
Sen. Warner completed his law degree at the University of Virginia and was Assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Columbia prior to joining the firm in 1961. He is the second-longest serving senator from Virginia.
