The wife and alleged victim of a Texas lawyer accused of arranging, with his mistress, to target his spouse multiple times in a murder-for-hire scheme continued to stand by her man today as he was arraigned on two counts of solicitation for capital murder.

Yvonne Stern and personal injury lawyer Jeffrey Stern, 53, are seen holding hands as they walk to court today in Houston in footage linked to a KHOU article about the case.

And after he pleaded not guilty, in footage linked to a KTRK report, she smiles and nods as her husband’s lawyer, Paul Nugent, tells reporters she doesn’t wish to comment. However, he adds, “her actions speak for themselves.”

Jeffrey Stern is accused of paying for three alleged hitmen. His mistress, Michelle Gaiser, worked as an office manager at a law firm other than Stern’s, reports an earlier Houston Chronicle article. She faces one count of solicitation of capital murder for allegedly helping Stern to arrange multiple shootings aimed at his wife. Shot in the stomach on one occasion last year, Yvonne Stern survived.

Three individuals who allegedly acted as hit men in the case previously pleaded guilty.

Stern admits he had an affair, but says he knew nothing about the claimed murder plot.
