Daughter of Slain Attorney Accuses Her Mother in Civil Suit Over His Death
More than two years after attorney Rolland Comstock was shot to death in his Greene County, Mo., home, no one has been charged with his murder.
But in a civil case that is expected to go to trial next June, the daughter of the slain probate attorney and rare book collector accuses her own mother of committing the crime, reports the News-Leader, a Springfield, Mo., newspaper.
Search warrant documents show that defendant Alberta Comstock purchased a .38-caliber revolver the day before her ex-husband was killed, according to the News-Leader and KSPR, a local ABC News affiliate.
Copies of the Greene County Circuit Court lawsuit (PDF) and a motion to dismiss (PDF) by Comstock are provided by the News-Leader.
Plaintiff Faith Stocker is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
The articles don’t include any comment from Comstock.
