A Dutch entrepreneur with a cutting-edge divorce mediation concept says he is ready to launch it in the United States.

Divorce Hotel—which is currently only available in the Netherlands but will begin offering its services at U.S. resorts this spring—offers couples a chance to meet with professionals in a five-star hotel setting to work out many of the arrangements over a weekend, the New York Post reports.

A reality television series is also planned. “We will have licensed mediators and attorneys in whichever state this takes place or whichever state has jurisdiction over the marriage,” producer Mickey Stern tells the newspaper.

Radio Netherlands and the World provide additional details about the operation run by entrepreneur Jim Halfens in Holland.

While not for everyone, the concept allows cooperative couples with relatively uncomplicated divorces to work out the arrangements quickly, the articles say. Advance preparation is also necessary to use the Divorce Hotel time effectively.
