Employees of New Orleans Law Firm Dive for Cover During Drive-By Shooting
A New Orleans lawyer says a car service appointment may have saved her life.
Ernestine Trahan usually sits at a desk that was right in the line of fire during a drive-by shooting on Wednesday that occurred outside her law firm, Trahan & Davis, WWLTV.com reports. Trahan was gone, but three other co-workers hit the floor when they realized the noise they heard was gunfire.
There are at least 36 bullet holes at the law firm, the story says. Nearly every wall was hit, along with a book case and a copy machine.
The law firm wasn’t the target. The occupants of one car fired at another, leaving one man dead and another in critical condition.
“We’re committed to new Orleans but this really hits home,” Trahan told WWLTV. “It’s very scary, it’s very frightening. It just lets you know how fragile and delicate life can be.”
