Evolve Law, a legal technology community, will merge with legal blog Above the Law in 2018.

Already partners, this merger will fully incorporate Evolve Law’s over 150 member companies and its community into Above the Law.

“As the largest community for lawyers in the U.S., we are excited to fully integrate the Evolve Law community into the Above the Law brand,” Hsiaolei Miller, group publisher of Above the Law, said in a press release.

Above the Law will begin to oversee the operations of Evolve Law, which will be rebranded as Evolve the Law. Members of Evolve Law will receive “special access” to Above the Law as a part of this merger.

Mary Juetten, Evolve Law’s current CEO said in a press release, “I am looking forward to seeing Above the Law build on Evolve Law’s community, particularly as we open up membership to public interest companies, legal departments, and law schools.”

Juetten’s role after the merger will be to collaborate on strategic vision, support and attend events, and create content for Above the Law as a columnist.

This move comes at a time when Above the Law is expanding their offerings, including a Legal Innovation Center and a legal technology directory.

The first event reflecting the merger will be held Jan. 30 in New York City.
