A former divorce litigant has pleaded guilty in a 2008 parking garage bombing near St. Louis that nearly killed lawyer John Gillis of Armstrong Teasdale.

Milton “Skip” Ohlsen pleaded guilty to four explosives charges on Tuesday, report the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and the Am Law Daily. Prosecutors say Ohlsen’s intended target was a different lawyer, Richard Eisen, who parked in the same garage and drove an Acura TL that was almost identical to the one driven by the victim. Eisen had represented Ohlsen’s wife in their divorce.

The plea deal calls for a 20-year sentence.

Eisen and Gillis were both present for the plea. Gillis, 73, has retired from Armstrong Teasdale. After the hearing he showed a reporter his skin grafts and said he has “gotten on with my life,” the Post-Dispatch says.
