A former law student at Roger Williams University was being evaluated Tuesday night following an incident in which he allegedly sent threatening email to faculty and administrators at the university’s law school and then refused to leave his home.

Kevin Pacheco, 36, emerged from his Dartmouth, Mass., home Tuesday night after police cut off the electric power following an eight-hour peaceful standoff, according to the Boston Globe and WLNE.

A Providence Journal article includes a photo of weapons and ammunition confiscated by police.

Pacheco is accused of sending email threats to school faculty in both Bristol, Mass., and Providence, R.I.

“Pacheco is a former law school student who was last enrolled during the Fall 2012 semester,” the university said in a Tuesday written statement. “Until the e-mail received this morning, there had been no direct interaction with him in more than nine months.”

Another Providence Journal article provides further details about the email and says Pacheco is expected to face charges of making threats and be arraigned Thursday in New Bedford District Court.

The articles don’t include any comment from Pacheco.
