A former staff attorney at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison was sentenced to five years in prison last Friday for distributing videos of child sexual abuse.

The lawyer, Jason Mark Sims, will also be on supervised release for 10 years, Law.com reports. He pleaded guilty in the case on Sept. 15.

Prosecutors had said Sims provided an undercover agent with videos showing sexual abuse of a 4-year-old girl and other children.

Sims’ lawyers said their client had himself suffered childhood abuse that caused post-traumatic stress disorder. His conduct in the case occurred during a period last year when Sims had untreated depression and was abusing alcohol, the lawyers said in a sentencing memorandum. His lawyers also said he refused repeated invitations from the undercover federal agent to have in-person inappropriate contact with children.
