Two Vinson & Elkins partners who have collectively worked at the firm for 59 years will replace managing partner Joseph Dilg, who will resign from his leadership post at the end of the year.

Dilg, 60, has served as managing partner for 10 years, according to the Am Law Daily and a press release. He will be replaced by T. Mark Kelly, a Houston capital markets partner who will serve as chairman, and Scott Wulfe, a Houston corporate partner who will serve as managing partner. Kelly has worked at V&E for 30 years, and Wulfe has worked there for 29 years.

Kelly told the Am Law Daily that the firm created a dual leadership structure so they could continue to keep active practices. They will lead the firm for a two-year term.

While Dilg was at the helm, the law firm added six offices outside the United States and established a West Coast presence. Kelly and Wulfe plan to continue the expansion. The firm is considering opening offices in Brazil, Canada, and Denver, Kelly told the Am Law Daily.
