Judge Postpones Attempted Murder Trial So Juror Can Attend 'Law & Order' Tryout
Real-life courtroom drama and a popular crime-solving TV show intersected on Friday as a New York judge postponed opening statements in an attempted murder trial for five hours so a juror struggling to find work could attend an audition for Law & Order.
“Good luck. We’ll be looking for you on TV,” Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Wayne Ozzi told Juror No. 6 as the actor headed out to Manhattan for his callback, reports the New York Daily News.
“If it was anything else, I wouldn’t even have brought it up,” the tall, dark-haired juror, whose wife is out of work, had told the judge when seeking permission to go to the audition.
Robert Morales, 52, is accused of shooting his parole officer in the shoulder during a 2010 parole office visit.
