Legal technology company LegalZoom has launched an app inside ChatGPT allowing users of the popular generative artificial intelligence chatbot to access its business creation forms and information.

The Mountain View, California-based company announced Thursday that ChatGPT users can explain their business formation plans in plain English and receive answers from LegalZoom’s app.

According to a March 12 press release, LegalZoom stressed that users will receive access to their attorney-backed information and guidance, and that the app can help users understand their options and explain differences between various business structures. It also provides state-specific checklists for LLC formations.

“We recognize that more entrepreneurs and small business owners are turning to AI to validate business ideas, and this app ensures LegalZoom meets them at that moment to help them get started,” said Jeff Stibel, the chairman and CEO of LegalZoom, in the press release. “OpenAI empowers entrepreneurial ideas, while LegalZoom provides the expertise and clarity to help small business owners go from idea to action. Backed by attorney expertise, we’re making legal guidance and accountability even more accessible, when and where they need it.”

LegalZoom and ChatGPT previously announced the establishment of their partnership in August 2025.
