A grand jury in Middlesex County, N.J., has issued new charges against an 18-year-old former Rutgers University freshman who is accused of driving his roommate to suicide by secretly recording a same-sex romantic dorm encounter with the help of another student.

Dharun Ravi now faces allegations of witness and evidence tampering, invasion of privacy and bias, among other counts included in today’s indictment, reports the New York Post.

Ravi and a female Rutgers student, Molly Wei, allegedly spied on Tyler Clementi, 18, via a webcam as he had a romantic encounter in his room with another male student. Clementi committed suicide soon after, leading to a national discussion about bullying, and Ravi and Wei withdrew from the university.

Both Ravi and Wei were previously charged in an unusual invasion of privacy case, although prosecutors say they have no charges to present to the grand jury against Wei at this time.
