An attorney who operates her own law firm in Kansas City, Mo., has been indicted in Boone County for first-degree murder and forgery in a case that is reportedly related to the 2010 slaying of her father at his home.

Susan Elizabeth Van Note was taken into custody Friday by Jackson County sheriff’s deputies, according to the Associated Press, the Kansas City Star and KSHB.

Both William Van Note, 67, and his longtime girlfriend were shot to death, but a prosecutor said no charges have been filed concerning the murder of Sharon L. Dickson, 59, the Star reports.

Two other individuals were indicted for second-degree murder and forgery.
