An increasing number of boutique and midsize law firms are matching or surpassing BigLaw associate pay and even offering bonuses to their associates this summer.
The associate salary scale set by Milbank is $235,000 for the class of 2025/2026, according to a story by Law.com.
Milbank first announced the new associate salary scale earlier this month.
Groombridge, Wu, Baughman & Stone—with offices in New York City and Washington, D.C.—has said it will exceed Milbank’s 2026 associate salary raises, while Glenn Agre Bergman & Fuentes—with offices in New York City and San Francisco—and Dunn Isaacson Rhee—with offices in San Francisco, New York City and Washington, D.C., are matching Milbank’s 2026 associate salary raises.
Dunn Isaacson Rhee and Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider—which both have offices in New York City; San Francisco; Washington, D.C.; and Hartford, Connecticut—have also announced bonuses for associates.
