Nicki Minaj’s legal team sues singer for unpaid fees

A law firm is suing singer Nicki Minaj for failure to pay legal services it provided for the entertainer in 2024.
Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani filed suit in Los Angeles County Superior Court for over roughly $230,000 in unpaid legal fees it says is owed by Minaj, according to court records obtained by TMZ. The firm defended Minaj in a copyright infringement lawsuit.
In January, Minaj was sued in another case involving a security guard in Germany who alleged being assaulted by her husband, Kenneth Petty, in 2019. A judge was prepared to authorize the sale of the performer’s California mansion, appraised at $20 million, to satisfy the debt after the couple failed to respond to the lawsuit.
The court entered a default judgment of $503,318.02, and Minaj wired the money. In the Gordon Rees’ lawsuit, the firm says Minaj did not respond to filings, leading to entry of a default in the case. A hearing to determine the default judgment is scheduled for September.
